BA Fine Art, St.Martin’s College, Lancaster
Katie
explains, “Much of my inspiration for the work I produce
comes from my personal environment and the rural setting in
which I live. Living on a sheep farm in the Forest of Bowland
has provided me with a basis for my work, drawing from all aspects
of the rural landscape. These themes range from the animals
that inhabit the land to the structures of farm buildings. Although
I have explored other themes, I constantly revisit my surroundings
for my inspiration.”
Katie has undertaken a wide range of
public and private commissions and has contributed greatly to
the art scene in rural Lancashire. Currently she is focussing
her attention on developing her career as a creative practitioner
and is a resident artist at Bee Mill Studios.
