| Simon
Shorrock lives and works from his home studio in Adelaide, Australia. When Simon was living in the UK he exhibited his early work alongside
Angela Wakefield in a number of exhibitions in the North of
England. Currently he is now working on a series of paintings based on the Australian bushranger Ned Kelly, as well as other work with a strong social/philosphical narrative. His imaginative colourful original paintings have an unrivalled intensity and his highly developed techniques with oil paint are truly exquisite.
Simon is, undoubtedly, inspired by the places he has lived
and visited - including Hong Kong, Australia, the UK, India
and Mexico. His eagerly anticipated new work is due to be featured
at the Ribchester gallery during 2010.
"By nature, I
am very aspirational and believe strongly in people's aptitude
for personal development; I try to involve this as a theme for
my artwork." Simon Shorrock |
